    I have been doing this for several weeks now but my house is fully equipped with reusable straws and reusable bags for groceries. Starbucks has put in an effort with using a nitro lid and only handing out straws if asked for.     Cooking meals with zero food waste has been easier than I thought (so far at least). Taking time to plan out my meals instead of rushing to cook up a quick meal has been very helpful. Hoping to be able to try out new recipes this week and avoid being repetitive with my meals.

    Recently I watched the documentary "Forks Over Knives" which talked about studies done showing that consumption of meat and processed foods are very connected to chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes. It was incredibly eye opening about how what we put in our bodies really affects us long term.

    this week i dug up my sunchokes, beets and carrots and roasted them with my sister's olive oil, herbs from my garden and squash from my neighbors garden. super locally produced meal!
