Joe Ivancic 4/05/2019 6:34 AMCSL 3 Reflection
Learning about food in a sustainability context is always interesting, as it is one of those things that people rarely consider the impact of. Hardly anyone reflects on the sandwich that they are about to eat, they're just hungry! I will admit that food is one of my weaknesses when it comes to being sustainable, as it is rare for me to eat local and I often buy products with too much packaging. However, having not eaten meat for 7 years apparently I'm doing some good. I was vegetarian for a year when I was 12, and have been vegan for the 6 years after that. It took me a year into that veganism to actually hear that it was more sustainable for me to live my lifestyle. I just really like animals, and the decreased environmental impact is a nice bonus.
