Margaret Wetter 11/17/2018 1:26 PMToday I calculated my water footprint. (You may notice under "Suggested Group Activity" on p 68 that the web address is missing ... I went to www.watercalculator.org). My footprint is 1,601 gallons / day. Not bad, I guess -- the U.S. average is 2,220. Note that this calculator takes into account your direct water use PLUS your virtual water use -- the amount of water it takes to produce your food, clothes, gas, etc. -
Margaret Wetter 10/30/2018 12:03 PMOne of my challenges this week was to explore a new nature walk in my community. Even though I have lived in north Seattle for 30+ years, I have never walked the short loop trail in the Llandover Woods Green Space. It's lovely! It's set in a beautiful wooded hillside, and today the trail was covered with multi-colored leaves. The main thing I enjoyed was the quiet. Except for the occasional airplane noise, the only sounds I heard were the birds and the wind in the trees.
