Olivia Ridgley 10/31/2020 2:37 PMI've been trying to go on at least two walks a day while there is still sunshine to enjoy in Portland. Last week I noticed signs had been put up all over, on almost all the poles within a couple blocks of my house. These signs are hand drawn, by a (probably) elementary aged kid and are all about climate change and saving the planet. It was really sweet and heartwarming to see that kids are aware and already advocating for change.
(I tried to include an image, hopefully it works)

Olivia Ridgley 10/17/2020 10:09 AMJoined Nextdoor for my neighborhood, so far I haven't done much but I do see a lot of people sharing plant starts, produce, and advice. Seems like a good way to get to know the community! -
Olivia Ridgley 10/17/2020 10:02 AMThe last couple weeks I focused on reducing my meat and animal product intake. Overall I found this to be very easy, I'm not a big meat eater anyway and now that I cook at home almost exclusively it has been even easier to focus on a plant based diet. The one place I found myself slipping up the most was butter, sometimes I would put it in the pan without even thinking. Does anyone know a good butter alternative? -
Olivia Ridgley 10/02/2020 7:55 PMFor my first 'action' I focused on hiking and exploring my area. I have been visiting with family in Colorado which was a nice escape from the smoke in Oregon. It has also served as a good reminder of the importance of forest management and how much I have come to value the ability to be outside in the last six months.
