Camilla Price 2/24/2020 2:15 PMin case we ever need this:
Transportation
value = convenience
connected, affordable local transport
walkable city
tax breaks for electric and solar cars, owning fewer cars
work gives carpooling option
bike paths
Uber/Lyft - hybrid/electric = prioritized for rates and rides
oil/gas tax
Food
value = community
popularize composting
popularize ugly fruit
community gardens and kitchens
adjustments to buffet-style dining
making food an experience: longer lunch breaks, encourage connections over food
local, organic sourcing
reducing meat options
trend of homegrown gardens
encourage smaller portions
Consumption
value = reuse/preservation
cost-efficient reusable items
sales tax
more secondhand options and rebates
tax higher on single-use options (ex: fast fashion)
create culture of giving (neighborhood exchanges) -
Camilla Price 2/21/2020 11:32 AMSolutions to overpopulation and overconsumption
Overpopulation: strategy - incentivize and educate on population reduction (incentives like tax breaks for fewer children, mandatory sex ed and family planning, public health care that gives access to birth control and family information
Overconsumption: strategy - economic incentives for secondhand buys and reduced shopping (income tax switched to sales tax, resale and secondhand buys get breaks/discounts, cost-efficient reusable items)
