I will watch one of the films suggested in the additional resources and discuss it with friends or family.
Consumption and Economy
Track my Purchases
I will maintain a record of all my purchases.

Say No to Plastic
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. This week, I'll say "no" to plastic bags at the store and plastic straws in all of my drinks.

Watch The Story of Bottled Water
I will watch The Story of Bottled Water to learn more about bottled water's impacts on the environment.
Consumption and Economy
Visit a Waste Management Facility
I will visit a local dump/transfer station, material recovery facility, and/or landfill to learn about the waste stream.

Use Reusable Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) each day this week.
Food
Zero-Waste Cooking
I will cook 5 meal(s) with zero waste each day this week.

Jamie Kilbourn 5/22/2018 12:20 PMI have started using reusable straws. The restaurants get very confused when you tell them you do not need a straw. It has become the norm to use a plastic straw and I'm helping to change that one straw at a time.-
Beth Beek Blackford 5/27/2018 7:50 PMI'm pleased to say that "Water please, no straw" now rolls off my tongue without my having to think about it! It took about 2 months of saying it 3-4 times a week before it became a habit. And if the server brings it anyway, I make a polite scene & explain. So far I've only dealt with ignorance, which quickly changes when presented with information.
