Zoe Kaiser 7/07/2020 9:34 AMI did a variation of the "carry my trash" action (since I don't travel that much right now) and have been holding on to my trash and keeping it in my room until I'm ready to document taking it all to recycling or disposal for my ecochange. It's challenging because I really want to get rid of it right away, it's embarrassing to hold on to because it takes up so much space and I share the room with my S.O.-
Laura Standley 7/07/2020 3:54 PMI can imagine feeling the way you do! I am the same way in regards to throwing away and recycling right away. The only time I "carry my trash" is when I am out and about and I have a napkin or something that was carrying food in; when it's empty, I just hold on to it until I get to a garbage can. Although, with this pandemic, I tend to hold on to it until I get home so that I can toss it in the garbage bin outside my house so that I don't have to touch public garbage bins.

Zoe Kaiser 7/02/2020 9:38 AMInstead of eating meals with meat I chose vegetables or tofu instead to start out since I can get overwhelmed with big changes and trying to keep myself motivated. I've also been actively purchasing less because I noticed I am an impulse buyer and don't need most of the things I've gotten for myself.-
Laura Standley 7/02/2020 7:54 PMI'm with you. I am also an impulse buyer! This pandemic situation is actually a good thing for me, haha!
Also, I greatly thank my fiance for taking the initiative on buying plant-based "meats." Since my Eco-change is more focused on Baby Food now, we are just now kind of experimenting on our own terms while we still consume our poultry meats from time to time. I am a picky eater and so I get the overwhelming feeling of big changes in terms of food. Heck, when I switched to soy milk from cow's milk, I eased into it with Chocolate soymilk.
ANYWAY, kudos on the changes! Change is not easy.

Zoe Kaiser 6/28/2020 2:55 PMI went through a storage space that I hadn't gone through for a couple years to sort through old nail polish and beauty products to pick what I actually used and what I didn't out of what I had accumulated over the years and never thrown out. As I was sorting I took photos of my products and put them in piles for recycling and Hazard disposal as well as trash. I'm thinking I'll make a nice art project out of my garbage to serve as a reminder after I get rid of it.-
Sachin Pahuja 6/29/2020 11:49 AMIt's really wild how much stuff we end up with when we're not paying attention! Also the art project sounds like a cool idea and a great way to put garbage to use.
