I took a 3+ mile hike today on the cross country ski trail next to Parjarito Ski area with my dog Basho. The land was beautiful and green from the monsoon rains we have been having in Northern New Mexico. Part of the walk went through the regrowth of Cerro Grande fire of 2000 which left over 400 families homeless and covered over 45,000 acres. I marveled at the ability of nature to recycle and rejuvenate itself over time.
