A Call to Sustainability
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a movie about a sustainability issue I would like to know more about.
Water
Say No to Plastic
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. This week, I'll say "no" to plastic bags at the store and plastic straws in all of my drinks.
Water
Use Reusable Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) each day this week.
Food
Zero-Waste Cooking
I will cook 1 meal(s) with zero waste each day this week.
A Call to Sustainability
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
A Call to Sustainability
Start a Sustainability Journal
I will start a sustainability journal, capturing my thoughts, concerns and learning about sustainability issues.
A Call to Sustainability
Talk To Others
I will tell 3 people why sustainability is important to me and what my vision for a sustainable world is.
Consumption and Economy
Watch a Documentary
I will watch one of the films suggested in the additional resources and discuss it with friends or family.
Consumption and Economy
Buy Only What I Need
I will not buy anything except items required for health and safety.
Consumption and Economy
Support Local Businesses
I will buy from local businesses instead of shopping online.
Food
Advocate for More Food Options
I will advocate for local and/or organic food options at work or on campus.
Food
Visit a Local Farm
I will visit a nearby farm to pick my own fruits and veggies.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

Sondra Curran 12/02/2020 2:32 PMThis week my ecochange will be to take public transportation, bike, walk more, or carpool. -
Sondra Curran 11/19/2020 11:52 AMI shared 3 goals that I added today but did recently. I am ALWAYS advocating for eating local to anyone I meet! Especially during this pandemic those restaurant owners need their community to come through so they can remain a business. The other was to visit a local farm. It wasn't Portland local but Oregon local! And it just really opened my eyes to the amount of love and passion someone really needs to have for that type of lifestyle and the appreciation for those putting themselves in the situation to better the community over themselves. -
Sondra Curran 11/05/2020 9:54 AMWatched "Honeyland" based on suggestions from class syllabus and it was really powerful film. It made me really emotional the way the father of the new family was with his family, animals, and the way he bullied the main character. -
Sondra Curran 11/03/2020 7:50 AMThis weekend spent time in Joseph OR reconnecting to myself and mother nature. Walked along pastures and sat with grazing cows, went on a hike through a prairie and cooked meals in the kitchen with a new community!-
Sondra Curran 11/05/2020 10:43 AMthe new community was the other families staying at the hotel with us, we shared an open kitchen and i ended up making a breakfast quiche and the mom of the others made bread so we all shared and chatted over food.

I also plan to find a new trail as it is a birthday gift to myself as well! -
