Megan Braemer 1/24/2022 12:46 PMHello! My action for this week has been to start a sustainability journal. This week I have been focused on the issues concerning sustainability in the work place. My company goes through quite a few single use water cups, coffee cups, paper plates, and utensils. We have metal utensils, coffee mugs, and more available. We also have dishwashers in our kitchen. Obviously, with COVID people are a little more hesitant to reach for those things that are not single use. I've been trying to look at options that I could bring to the higher ups to help be sustainable, while helping folks feel safe.-
Jennifer Goldschneider 1/25/2022 11:02 AMWhat a great way to start spreading your interest in sustainability to others! I wonder if your company might be interested in doing what the company that my daughter works for has done: investing in good quality, branded reusable water bottles for each employee (or could be reusable thermal mugs). Maybe if workers bring/wash their own bottles from home, they would feel better about Covid risk? Although, the risk from surfaces has been found to be very low, so those mugs and utensils in your kitchen are probably just fine, too.
