This week I am trying to eat less dairy. It has been challenging because I count on eggs, cottage cheese, and cheeses for protein in some meals. I am a pescatarian-I eat fish, but not any meat. I want to do more research about where our fish comes from so make sure the source is sustainable.

My action for this week was to learn about the ecological footprint of Duke Energy, as we are one of their customers. Their website is very impressive with lots of resources. They note that Duke Energy is one of seven companies in our sector to make the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America. Duke publishes an annual Sustainability Report summarizing its efforts to reduce its environmental footprint, develop next generation energy technologies, and operate as a sustainable business. I also read an article written in the Sierra Club magazine. The title was:  Duke Energy Pollute to Profit. The author cited several incidents of accidents and environmental disasters, all very alarming. Now I am convinced, I need to look into alternatives for clean energy. First on my list to check is Clean Choices Energy, suggested by Sherida and Gustave. Thank you.
