Dann Sklarew 3/28/2018 6:44 PMWell done, sir! On drizzly days, I sometimes walk (like yesterday) and sometimes take Mason's Burke VRE Shuttle (like today). Mason Shuttles go far beyond Vienna Metro these days, with one line going 2 miles S to Burke VRE Station (w/free parking!), two lines going across Braddock to University Mall and a few miles W to Fair Oaks, Fair Lakes and other retail - and, of course, S&T campus shuttle between Fairfax and Manassas campuses... details and up to the minute status at http://shuttle.gmu.edu ...

Hydro Flask ftw
I will reduce the amount of water flushed and save up to 11 gallons (41 L) of water per day by installing a toilet tank bank.
New water saving toilet was installed on the main level bathroom at my house a month and a half ago
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. This week, I'll say "no" to plastic bags at the store and plastic straws in all of my drinks.
Our house does not use plastic bags and avoids the use of plastic if possible -
nick beaton 2/16/2018 7:59 AMI will enjoy 14 meatless meal(s) and/or 7 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
I have been vegetarian/ pescetarian for the last 4 years, usually I try to have a vegan salad for lunch but often I will include cheese in my dinner/ some days I have sustainable certified fish for dinner as well
I will watch a documentary film about food with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Seeds of Time
I will enjoy 7 meal(s) cooked with organic ingredients each day this week.
Most food I purchase at Trader Joe's is organic, but not all, some food comes canned
I will advocate for local and/or organic food options at work or on campus.
I am doing my service learning at the presidents park greenhouse, where almost all the food grown gets sent to the campus kitchen. All food grown in the greenhouse is organic.
I will reduce food waste and save money by planning a weekly menu, only buying the ingredients I need.
I meal prep my lunches every day to not only cut down on food waste but also save money so I dont eat out every day. If I do eat out I prefer chipotle because all bags, containers, and napkins are made from recyclable materials.
I will source 14 meal(s) from local producers each day this week. This could include signing up for a local CSA, buying from a farmer's market, visiting a food co-op, foraging with a local group, or growing my own ingredients.
Trader Joe's gets all of its food from local farmers. I shop at TJ's regularly, but one problem I often encounter is certain things being there some days, and not other days. Though this may hinder my shopping list, it reassures me because I know my food is produced locally and not everything may be in season or available in my area.
I will cook 7 meal(s) with zero waste each day this week.
My meal prepped salads for lunch are put in reusable tupperware to reduce waste, all ingredients that go into the salad are recyclable as well.
I will enjoy 14 meal(s) free of processed foods each day this week.
I rarely eat processed foods due to my diet. The only somewhat processed food I can think that I regularly consume is protein powder.
