Reflection 2: I'm really inspired by the ecological fact (p. 37) that "Diversity assures resilience." I think that by varying the way I do things, I can be more resilient and prepared for future challenges and reduce my footprint in the process. So, not just shopping at Kroger, trying to shop more at my local farmer's market. Or walking someplace instead of driving.

We live just 2.5 miles from a Kroger.  I sometimes walk there and back if I'm only getting a few things but if I forget and pick up heavy items or something that needs to be kept cold or frozen then I have to call my husband to come pick me up...which defeats the purpose.  ooops...

I want to learn how to be a sustainable, responsible homeowner. I want to buy less plastic– especially large items like laundry detergent. I think I can contribute my design expertise and my knowledge of the inner workings of evil corporations made up of (largely) well-meaning people ;)
