I cheated and ate a sandwich at Jimmy Johns today. I didn't take a straw or a lid and was sad to see that only water cup "free" was a stryofoam cup. I did tell them that this was toxic and not sustainable. I received a look like I was crazy. Maybe I can convince them  to use paper cups instead. Anything but styrofoam.

I shopped for dinner meal planning and the prices were not that bad. I'm happy to say that I'll be eating some meat free meals for the rest of the week. Yay! between Aldi and trader Joe's prices are not as high as Dierbergs or Schnucks and I feel like the quality is better. I need to look into where Trader Joe's gets their foods. To be continued.

I completed the story of stuff quiz and am in "investigator" It was an interesting short quiz to take. I posted it on FaceBook so that others will hopefully read up and take the quiz and learn what they are and how they can get involved in community projects.

It's so nice to have cooler weather but the low for this up coming Thursday is 37. This has effected our seasonal climate and is too cold for the beginning of fall.

Processed foods are in seemingly everything and it's difficult find things that everyone in my family will eat without all the additives. Organic leafy veggies and greens are just about the only thing I can think of without processed ingredients. The plant based diet will have to do.

I reposted on Facebook for anyone who may want to donate to the ocean clean up for my birthday. I'll try and post the link in this section. Can't figure out the link and guess you would have to search for me under Dawn Andrew if you wanted to donate. No pressure. :)

I had to join the spring team then switch to our class. Not sure why I have trouble but hoping this is the last of it.

since learning about sustainability in my class I look at my life in a different view. I analyze almost everything I do and understand I have an obligation and desire to improve my ecological footprint. I have donated $60.00 to the Ocean Cleanup on Facebook and have purchased Wegreeco snack bags to cut down on my use of plastic and garbage waste. I am still waiting for my Chico bags to arrive and am eager to show my kids and just get them seen. Hopfully others will see them and it will open a conservation and promote the need and use of them. My grandkids will definitely love the set i have received and will enjoy them as much as I do. I want to take every opportunity I can to make the world a better place for everyone. Not just in recyclying but communication, learning, and appreciating and understanding each others differences.
