I chose the "Chasing Coral" 2017 documentary, which discusses the destructive path that coral reefs have faced all over the Earth. Directed by Jeff Orlowski, the documentary demonstrates a diverse group of professional scientists, divers, and journalists, of whom have directly experienced and observed the tarnished states of these reefs.

Being personally invested in the natural and human-caused changes in world environments, I found this documentaries focus on climate change and rising sea temperatures as worrying indicator of one of the many sides of this enveloping issue. A process known as coral bleaching encompasses the overall loss of the diverse colors within coral to which they begin to turn white. The main instigator of this issue is cited to be rising temperatures within waters, alongside an assortment of additional environmental pressures caused by human intervention.

This rapid change that we've experienced within the last century is not an isolated issue. Nor does it solely prescribe the degradation that we are currently experiencing in other environments, such as forests, our own urban spaces, and other animal ecosystems. It is a mark of future developments all over the world. The fragility of these reefs must be taken as a viable indicator of the detriment these changes will eventually have in the spaces that surround us, possibly cementing our incapacity to sustain ourselves any further, if something isn't done to amend these problems.

Increasing awareness of these issues is one step to the many we'd need to pass as a collective to significantly reduce our impact on climate change. Much damage has already been done and will continue to mound on its own as a result of our inaction and passive contribution to the issue. There must be radical change in our industries and communities to address this ecological deterrent, which is quickly slipping from our grasp.

Nice! I was also considering on returning to a few near me that I haven't checked out in a while. If you're ever looking for some near the Northwest area, you should try Macleay Park. Very beautiful landscape
