    Tacoma's TAGRO facility is such an amazing resource that we have in the Pacific Northwest (the only water treatment facility alike in a city in the US)! I love knowing that anything that goes down the sewage in Tacoma, or is put in the brown yard/food waste bin will be treated in that facility and cleaned out for the water to empty into the sound.

    One of the challenges was to practice gratitude outside so I have set a goal for myself to have a 10 minute walk in the morning every day in my neighborhood, with my coffee, and no technology to take in sounds, smells, colors of the morning and feel grateful for the nature around me in the city.

    I have lived in Tacoma for almost four years so I already am familiar with a lot of the NGOs fighting environmental issues with the LNG plant, food insecurity in the city, and to make Tacoma a friendlier city to bikes and pedestrians and increasing routes access in public transit and commuting. Today I biked over to Point Defiance Park because I heard they are still letting pedestrians and bikes into the park and the 5 mile loop but no cars, and it felt amazing to take over that whole park on a bike. I also have been listening to several podcasts that talk about the intersection of climate change and the pandemic, one to note is "Outrage and Optimism" podcast and their latest episode on Climate Change and the Coronavirus hosted by a UN member who helped to draft the Paris Climate Agreement. With this podcast and others like The Rich Roll Podcast conversation with Zach Bush, a physician, and their conversation spans the pandemic, what individual choices people can make right now to take over a capitalist system that is failing everyone and the planet right now. They talk about the relationship between the microbiome, disease, and food production systems... I cried at the end so it's a great episode and would highly recommend for anyone seeking some answers on the choices we can make individually right now during this crisis to heal our bodies, minds, food systems, and economy.
