After our trip to Tryon I decided to spend time looking at nature around where I live. Despite the fact that it is going to be winter soon there are still so many plants around, even flowers. Even just walking down town for class there are still trees and the sky to look at. It was great to go out into the woods but it's important to remember nature is all around us. I don't usually take picture when I go walking as I just like to experience it. Here are some pictures I took of the sky the other day. Have a great holiday if you celebrate. :)

inspired by this sessions topic I wanted to try to shop my own closet basically. I own quite a bit of clothing (as seen in my zoom background) but I still feel like I need to buy new cloths to avoid just wearing the same thing. This isn't helped by the fact I work in fast fashion and through doing this I actually realized most of the new clothing I was buying was from there. I thought I was pretty good at not buying things from work! Here are my three outfits so far. This was really fun and made me realize I have lots to wear, as well as some stuff I don't want

This week I wanted to check out one of the free libraries near my house. We have had some books we wanted to sell at powels but we hadn't gotten around to it. I didn't end up taking any books from the library because I didn't like any of them but I did put like ten books in.  I also looked in the reuse room at psu and I am going to see if my sister will let me take her old books from classes she took.  I'd love to know if any of you know of any buy nothing or sharing groups as it is something I'd like to try.
I mostly put in children's books as I think this would be so fun as a child. If I found a free manga as a child I would have been over the moon! :)

That's so nice you put children's books in there. I always loved little libraries as a kid but they always just had adult books that seemed pretty uninteresting.

Not a challenge but I just wanted to show off the scarf I made for this winter and fall. Also my newest project, a bag for my best friend's birthday!
The first picture is from instagram, hence the sticker filter. Also I love a good checkerboard pattern :)

My dad and I went to go pick up litter around the neighborhood today. I thought there wouldn't be too much trash but we ended filling up a whole kitty litter box full of trash. Most of the general trash was candy from halloween and snacks and drinks around the school. When we went closer to the highway we did find some bigger trash, some we couldn't even take with us. Most of the trash seemed to be from children but the bigger trash was near the max/highway, which had no trash cans around.
also found a whole hubcap and a brand new pencil

Wow! Good on y'all for picking up trash. It's pretty sad how much gets littered or purposely thrown out of cars by people!

This week I decide to make an effort to wear my clothing more inbetweener washing them. This is a little tricky for me because I had gotten in the habit of washing my shirt after every time I wore one because it felt like I was lazy if I didn't. Which I realized is a pointless distinction because I will wear my pants, sweaters, and jackets several times before I wash them. It has also helped me feel like I don't have to wear something new everyday, which is a mind set that leads me into wanting more clothing when I already feel that I have a lot. Washing less will also help my cloths last longer, which is important to me as I really like the clothing that I have. This is this weeks laundry minus the sweater I'm wearing and underwear (a little too personal..)
Also yes I only wear white tank tops...

Nice! I definitely also have a habit of putting things in the laundry right after wearing them instead of checking if I can use them again once or twice. You inspired me to be mindful about laundry this week!

Today I went to Mama's and Hapa's as I really wanted to check out a zero waste store. It was really cool, they mostly had cleaning products and personal care products. I went there to buy dental floss as I wanted one I could easily by refills for. It is also biodegradable which is a plus. They had a lot of cool bulk stuff, like shampoo and conditioner. I know lots of people who want to be less wasteful but don't get along with bar shampoo and conditioner so this would be a great thing to recommend. I'll definitely go back sometime when I run out of cleaning products.

This week I was going for the buy nothing but what you need but I failed that mark on buying replacement mascara. However I was very conscious about what I wanted to buy when I was going for that goal and I realized that it was a lot more then I thought it would be. This made me realize I could help this buy not only tracking my purchases but tracking what I want to buy.  I really want to think through my purchases before I make them, so I don't end up with things I didn't really need in the first.  By really thinking before I bought things I found out several times that I already had something that I could use instead. I didn't put food or things I would consider necessary on here because I really just eat the same few things everyday.

I talked with my family today (who I live with) about reusing ziplock bags. I had already gotten them to start using reusable bags but they still use ziplocks for bigger things. I don't like telling other people what to do so I just brought it up as an idea. I also wrote on the bags so we'd be less likely to throw them away knowing that they have a specific purpose. :)

I went to Washington park with two friends and we walked some hiking trails in the Hoyt Arboretum. I was planning on drawing while I was out there but it was raining most of the time so I drew a picture I took when I got home. It was nice out there but I didn't really like feel it (If that makes any sense) until we got deeper into the park. It was a pretty area but it felt manicured in a way. I didn't get a picture of it because it was really raining but I felt most connected at this overlook place. It just made me appreciate how grand nature is. The picture I drew was actually a place that was fences of and it really spoke to me because it was just growing freely and I thought that that was so pretty. I don't really go hiking but I think I want to do it more as this was really nice, and my boyfriend is always trying to take me hiking.
