I own a low flow showerhead. I recently learned about Portland's Water Bureau free water conservation kit. If you live in Portland, I would recommend checking it out.

I watched fantastic fungi for the first time. I like everything about mushrooms, so I enjoyed the movie. I am glad that people are paying more attention to fungi. I hope that learning about them will show people the importance of forests and old-growth forests; and that they will be cautious about them too.

When I visited Scrap, I bought a few things. I found some new white hats to paint, cozies to crochet over, and a pair of scissors. I like going to local businesses, u-pick farms, and buying local produce at the supermarket. Last summer I visited Gonzalez Berry Farm, they grow a large variety of blackberries including a wild black raspberry.

I have been practicing buying only what I need for the past 3 months. This last christamas we were not big on buying presents. Me and my boyfriend skipped on christmas and valentine's day presents. We focused on enjoying a meal and the time together. I have not purchased anything for myself but one pair of sweatpants for the year.

I calculated my ecological footprint and the results were not good. There are still a lot of things I can do to reduce the amount of resources being consumed. I used the EPA's GHG calculator excel sheet.

I learned that Scrap PDX is a non-profit organization with a sustainable vision. They provide a service to the community by taking things that would end up in landfills and encourage creativity by reusing materials. They have educational programs for the public including children.
