I am planning on going to pick apples this weekend and enjoy the freshness of honey crisp apples. Knowing that I hand selected them and they didn't sit in a grocery store or get shipped in from a non local farm makes me happy. (my carbon footprint of driving to get them is not positive)
Benefits-quality time, making memories, getting fresh, and supporting local farmers. (Just not local to me but close enough) :)

Do you ever make apple butter? I did a few years ago, and it was the best I ever had. Maybe I'll try making some again this year!

I am still having trouble with my password and logging in. I need to have my old account deleted so I can be active in the activities. It's stating my email is already taken and my stuff is not merging.

Has anyone seen the documentary Tapped? I feel like anyone who would watch it would never drink water from a plastic bottle much less purchase bottled water in plastic containers. Then I find myself thirsty out in public without my metal water bottle and end up buying one. Is that lazy, thirst, or just easy access that drives me to purchase water in a plastic bottle? I go against what I've learned and can't help think that many others do the same. Then there are just the uneducated people who have no clue about the consequences of purchasing water in plastic bottles and the waste that builds up.

This is a great website and very helpful in keeping us accountable to our actions. It gives great suggestions for improving how we live and learn.

I did watch Cooking by Michael Pollan and found it very interesting.  (He is an amazing writer and I read Omnivore's Dilemma. Fantastic read)I thought it was slash and burn and they were eating lizzards that were stunned from the heat and it showed how they ate from the land. The women were the hunters too. They way they hunted them was interesting and I am happy to NOT have to eat those. Cooking with fire was also an important part of their lives and allowed them to eat more foods even baptizing there children with fire.

I have cooked food every night and had meatless meals several days in the past week. I'm trying to convert to a plant based diet but am finding it hard living with meat eaters. I don't think I can give up fish and I really love cheese.

There are so many informative documentaries on our environment that explain how humans can improve our planet and educate us on how things changed over time. I wish these documentaries would air on regular television so people could learn and think deeper before making various decisions in every day life. I almost guarantee that many are unawared of these videos.

I totally agree.  We should have MORE educational documentaries on public television!!

I have never really played around on the internet looking for videos or documentaries but since starting back at school, I do this now.  So much out there to learn but we have to make sure we go to a reputable website.  Example being the Wolf video.  I had never seen it but when I told my husband about it he had already seen it sometime last year.
